[He will take it! He picks one of those vague beginnings of a vulpine shape and begins to alter it, very slightly--turning it into something like a person with tall ears, sitting in the scene Eiden's already created.]
I bought paint earlier this week, but I know they have charcoal and pastels too. I could ask for clay, but I don't know if it would be enough.
[It's not really the same when you can't, like. Slam it around a studio.]
I was thinking about finally grabbing some better pencils, even though the ones from Ikea are free... Maybe we can start a collection of supplies. I've got some cash.
[ but oh man just slamming clay... that's a fuckin dream. he watches kaveh with curiosity, head tilting carefully as he observed... and smiles a little at the figure grows into the shape of someone with tall ears? cute??? ]
It would be nice to start something of a pool. Or at least to know who has what, if they're willing to share.
[He wouldn't blame people for wanting to keep their own stuff.
It's still a pretty vague outline, but it comes together pretty quickly into a recognizable form--a chin-length bob, an arm resting on a bent knee, a fluffy tail mid-sway.]
This is my best friend. [A little curl of fondness makes it through the haze of negativity as he sketches.] I would never wish this place on anyone, but--I miss him.
[ oh weh... he watches him sketch, very content. this is like having his own private stream, wow! but he can smell the graphite and he gets to just kind of hang out with someone he genuinely likes hanging out with. he smiles. ]
Mmm, tell me about him a little? I think sometimes talking about them... while it can make me miss them, it helps in a way too.
[That's true, he thinks. Some aches are good--nostalgic or cathartic.]
His name is Tighnari. We were both students at the Akademiya, though I didn't know him all that well when I was there. He helped me out when I was designing the Palace of Alcazarzaray. [There's a complicated swirl of emotion, there; pride, nostalgia, melancholy, and a deep, old pain. He hesitates, quietly sketching for a little bit--but then he continues.] ...He helped me deal with the aftermath, when it got destroyed. He's one of the kindest and smartest people I know.
[ eiden takes all of this in while kaveh strokes along the sketchbook with the pencil, and the longer it goes on, the quieter his swell of emotions becomes, because he's just riding along the ebb and flow of this particular emotional memory of a person, and more.
he observes the continued sketching. ]
He sounds like an amazing guy... [ a smile ] The ears and tail are so cute...

...I wish we had clay. Sculpting would be better, on this kind of day.
[It's something more physical, more tangible to focus on. Something that could let them be as violently angry or as gently sad as they'd like.
Carefully, respectfully, he holds out his hand for the sketchbook and the pencil.]
...May I?

Yeah... yeah, sure, of course.
[ handing pencil and sketchbook over to him. ]
Clay's a really good idea though. Maybe we'll get lucky... [ hateful ]

He is. He won't hesitate to tell you when you're being stupid, but he makes you feel like he'll take care of things. Like he always knows what to do.
