[It feels pathetic to be this upset, really. They're not the victims here--at least, no more than anyone else stuck in this horrible game. In fact, they've made it further than so many others; shouldn't he be grateful that they made it this far? What kind of person is he to stand here, to cry on Eiden and accept comfort from someone who's lost so much more than he has?
[ he's allowed to feel upset, eiden would be the last person to tell him that. if he could beat up kaveh's brain for being mean to him he would, but he can't, so for now he's really just holding him, rubbing his back in slow passes.

[It's not like Eiden's the only person in his life who's willing to listen, to comfort him like this--but it's not the same as hearing it out loud. It's been such a long time since anyone's said something like this to him, so clearly and gently, and gratitude twists inextricably with a fresh wave of guilt.
