[No, be nice, Kaveh. Don't be rude, Kaveh. You were already an unintentional asshole to the frog man, don't make a big deal out of this. It's a job! It's... re...spectable...? Kind of?
Ahem.
He clears his throat.]
It's good that you... are able to... be creative in with your work?
No, no, it's--you know, I think it's more worthwhile than a lot of other jobs out there. [This started off as a platitude but now he seems like he's talking himself into believing it] I can appreciate someone with a healthy respect for romance, even if it's... you know. [NOT QUITE THE SAME THING, but like. Close enough.] And if it's something you enjoy, that's even better.
I definitely don't hate romance... if it gets people's blood pumping, then I'm happy with a job well done.
[ there is. something kind of sweet as kaveh sort of walks himself around the topic. eiden rests a chin in his hand with a smile hanging on the corner of his mouth. it's. cute. this guy's super cute. it should actually be illegal. what's he hiding, mental illness? depression? shakes him like a tin can. ]
I gotta say, when I take the work away from the office like I've been forced to do, it definitely is a lot more fun.
[I dunno what you're talking about, Kaveh doesn't have a single mental illness
He seizes on this topic, though, nodding vigorously.]
Exactly! It's the same with architecture. I can't count the number of times I've had to pare down my designs for a client with no vision or sense whatsoever. Not to mention the sages' campaign against the arts, which made it nearly impossible to convince anyone that beauty is vital to design.
[Kaveh couldn't be in the archon quest because he would fistfight Azar on Nilou's behalf]
When it comes down to it, designing for a job is really hard. We deserve way more than we're paid. Architecture... you really get to make your mark on the world. Physically.
[This is the best conversation Kaveh's had in like. Years, probably. He's so happy.]
Yes! You know, there are some ruins out in the desert in Sumeru--I visit them sometimes, when I need inspiration. They've been around for thousands of years. I can't imagine a greater legacy than that--building something that will move people's hearts long after I'm gone.

I design sex toys.

[ he laughs a little sheepishly ]
But I get pretty creative. Enough that we get big spenders who want our designs. So it's a living, I guess! Not that I see much of the money.

[DAMN DOES HE UNDERSTAND THE MONEY MOOD, THOUGH.]
