[ she should be stronger than this. she should be able to look towards tomorrow with her head held high, even though her tears would still fall. it's funny, the bonds she's made have been a source of strength for her, new connections she could never have fathomed back home. before, when she was alone, of course she only had herself to rely on. her connections weren't really bonds - they were marks. sometimes they were patients. but she couldn't say for certain that she had any friends. her strength laid in her survival; her ability to con and outwit and run.
it's different here. she's made friends here. there are people like eiden who inexplicably care about her and comfort her. and she knows she can trust him, she does trust him, and not having to second guess that still surprises her all these weeks later. she knows she can rely on him, and that together they have to do their best to keep moving forward. he's right: they're almost at the end.
she just wishes she could do more to protect him too. ]
I wish we could merge our teams. It'd be easier to keep an eye on you.
